The Momence Park
District operates five
facilities within the
boundaries of Momence,
IL.  Each facility serves a
unique purpose and
provides  the residents of
Momence, Illinois and
surrounding communities
with opportunities to play,
learn and relax!

The flagship facility of the
Momence Park District is
Island Park.  Island Park
offers a one-of-a-kind
location featuring acres of
wooded beauty nestled
between two channels of
the Kankakee River. Island
Park offers room to roam,
picnic, fish and enjoy the
sights and sounds of the
Kankakee River.

Additional Parks include
historic Walnut Street
Park, Island View Park,
Jed & Emma Park and
Boat Launch Park.

Walnut Street Wagon.  
The park offers a
large playground
facility and covered
picnic pavilion.  A
very popular park,
Walnut Street is the
perfect site for
outdoor parties and
family events.

The five facilities
maintained by the
Momence Park
District are all
available for group
rentals.  Groups of
15 or more are
required to reserve a
rental space and
acquire a permit.

five individual
locations for rent.

A 2009 OSLAD (Open Space Land Acquisition and Development) Grant through
the IDNR was awarded to the Momence Park District on May 6, 2009.  The Grant
will allow the Park District to pursue a new ADA compliant Interpretive Trail and
Rail & Reel Fishing/Train Watching Pavilion on the southwest bank of the
Kankakee River.  The additional facilities will allow residents additional outdoor
activities courtesy of the Momence Park District.
